How to Clean Carro Home Lamp Shades

Quick Answer

Use a soft brush or microfiber cloth to gently dust your Carro Home lamp shades weekly, and spot-clean stains with a mild soap solution—never soak or submerge the fabric.

Step-by-Step Lamp Shade Cleaning

1. Step 1: Dust Regularly: Use a soft-bristle brush attachment on your vacuum or a dry microfiber cloth to remove loose dust from the shade. Work from top to bottom in gentle strokes. Common mistake: using a rough cloth can snag the fabric. Stick to soft materials only.
2. Step 2: Spot Clean Stains: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with cool water. Dip a clean white cloth into the solution, wring it until barely damp, then blot the stain gently. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain or fray the fabric. Test on an inconspicuous area first to ensure the color doesn't run.
3. Step 3: Dry Thoroughly: After spot cleaning, allow the shade to air dry completely away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Place it upright on a clean towel to maintain its shape. Never use a hair dryer or heater—heat can shrink the fabric or cause the shade to warp.
