Explore the Aspen 48-inch smart ceiling fan with integrated LED light, remote and app control, and damp-rated outdoor use for covered spaces.
Quick answer
The Aspen 48 Smart Ceiling Fan with LED Light offers Wi-Fi and remote control, a damp-rated design for covered outdoor areas, and easy DIY installation.
Why damp rating matters for your installation
The Aspen 48 is damp-rated, meaning it can handle humidity and indirect moisture typical of covered patios, screened porches, or gazebos. It is not rated for direct rain or snow, so avoid open decks or pergola-free areas. This makes it a practical choice for semi-outdoor spaces where a standard indoor fan would fail.
Control options: remote vs. app
You can adjust fan speed and light brightness using the included remote or the CARRO smart app. The app adds scheduling and voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant, which the remote alone cannot do. The trade-off is that app setup requires a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, so check your router compatibility before purchase.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I use the Aspen 48 on an open deck?
- No, it is damp-rated, not wet-rated. It must be installed under a covered structure like a patio roof or porch ceiling. Direct rain or snow will damage the motor and electronics.
- Does the fan work with Alexa or Google Assistant?
- Yes, after connecting via the CARRO smart app, you can enable voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant. The app itself is free to download. Voice control requires a compatible smart speaker and a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- How difficult is the installation?
- The fan is designed for simple, user-friendly installation. The package includes a detailed manual and all necessary hardware. If you are comfortable with basic wiring (connecting neutral, live, and ground wires), you can install it yourself in about one hour.
- Is the LED light dimmable?
- Yes, the integrated LED light is dimmable via the remote or the app. You can adjust brightness from 1% to 100% to suit your mood or activity.
- What size room is this fan suitable for?
- The 48-inch blade span is ideal for small to medium rooms, such as a 10x10 bedroom, a home office, or a compact covered patio. For larger spaces, consider a 52- or 56-inch fan. Measure your room before buying; a fan that is too small will not move air effectively.
